Family of Ten -- Andover, MA Family Portrait Photographer

A big group is a challenge, but this was fun and they are a photogenic bunch! Karen is my friend and neighbor, and her mom wanted a group photo of the whole clan and some pictures of the grandkids. Here's a peek at some of the photos from the day:

Sisters! - Andover, MA Children and Family Portrait Photographer

I had a great time photographing these lovely and fun sisters this afternoon! They are great kids, and the older two were such big helpers with their adorable little sister who was on the go the entire time! They all did great though and I hope they had as much fun as I did.

For the next few weekends I'm offering introductory pricing as I continue to build my portfolio for 30-45 minute on-location sessions. $75 covers my time plus editing and delivery of 15-20 (at least) high-res images on disk for you to use as you wish. Perfect for Holiday cards! Email me for availability as space is limited.

Thanks for looking!

A Weekend of Substance

I knew when I signed up for Jenna Walker's Substance photography workshop that I was going to learn a lot about the craft I feel such passion for. And I did. I still have an image of Katie (Jenna's sister and business partner) in my head with her hand high in the air -- checking to see where that sweet light is coming from and showing us how to find it.

But beyond the nitty gritty of making a beautiful picture, Jenna and Katie understand people -- what's important to them, how to make them laugh, feel comfortable, and how to bring out their true self and convey it in a photograph that will become part of a family's history. As I learn and grow in this art, I hope I can be a photographer like that -- making beautiful images while telling a story and truly appreciating people and why photographs are so important to them.

In addition to Jenna and Katie, I met eight other amazing women, all with the same passion and similar goals to mine. We spent three days learning, listening, sharing ideas, laughing till we cried, and of course, shooting. We had opportunities to hone our craft and learn from the pros, photographing real people with available light. I'm so proud of the images I turned out and everything I learned over the weekend. I came away knowing that once I get past the fear of going for it, I can do this and do it well. I also made some new friends and there is already talk of a ski house reunion!

So stay tuned for news about my official launch -- coming soon! But I can't end without saying thank you to my awesome husband for giving me his full support in this venture. And for holding down the fort back here, despite what I think may have been initial suspicions that this was just a ploy to plan a trip to Colorado! He is one of the good ones and I am lucky.

Meanwhile, here you go -- a few images from each of our shoots from the weekend. If you click on the link above each collage or the collage itself, you'll be taken to an album with more images. Enjoy!
